Looking down the valley from the loco depot. In the distance is Hunedoara steel works, with Castle Corvin on the right. The start of narrow gauge line is just out of view behind the hill on the left and it runs on a ledge just under the left end of the cable-way.

This looks like an American geared logging engine, but in fact is a mobile boiler. The coaches that were used on the passenger train were steam-heated, but after the line was dieselized in 1977 it was necessary to attach this object to the trains in winter to provide heat. It is was rebuilt in the 1980's from 0-8-0T No.12F (Resita 1019/57), which had part of its frames cut away and then was mounted on freight wagon bogies.

L45H-072 about to leave the quarry at Craciuneasa.

Typical scenery on the upper portion of the line, where the track clings to a shelf high above the valley floor.

The IRS special at Halta Catana, which was formerly a pick-up point for the passenger trains.

The massive bridge across the valley, between the loco depot and Zlasa.
